Team Staff Requirements (Barrie Women's Hockey Association)

The OWHA defines minimum requirements for all team staff positions. In order to register your team roster with the OWHA, these minimum requirements must be met.

Requirements are submitted online as part of the staff registration process, using the Ramp Registration system. It is up to each volunteer to maintain there volunteer profile and to know whether all requirements have been fulfilled - if in doubt, please ask! REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL POSITIONS: Respect in Sport for Hockey Activity Leaders Planning a Safe Return to Hockey The OWHA has not provided a version of the Gender Identity & Expression course, not have they confirmed if it is required. The Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF) does have a version of the Gender Identity & Expression Course that is recognized by Hockey Canada. TRAINER:

• All teams must have a trainer present for all games and practices who holds a valid and current certificate from the Hockey Trainers Certificate Program. For more information visit the Hockey Development Council of Ontario site.
• All trainers must be female. Exceptions must be discussed with the Director of Competitive Teams

If your HTCP was completed before/ during this season:	Expires
2021-2022 season	August 31, 2024
2020-2021 season	August 31, 2023
2019-2020 season	August 31, 2022 Renewal eligible until November 1, 2022
2018-2019 season or before	August 31, 2020 Full recertification required.

Police Background Checks
All team staff - including head coaches, assistant coaches, practice staff, trainers, managers, etc. - most provide an acceptable police background check, including vulnerable sector screening. For more information, see our Police Background Check requirements page.

Respect in Sport
All team staff - including head coaches, assistant coaches, practice staff, trainers, managers, etc. - most have completed the Respect in Sport Hockey Activity Leaders - and a copy of the certificate of completion must be provided to [email protected].
