We’re excited to annunce two exciting changes for the 2023-2024 that we think we greatly improve the hockey experience for our players, and help to grow our league.
2 DIVISION FORMAT
For the first time, the 2023-24 season will feature two divisions - players will be asked to identify the division they would like play in at the time of registration:

For players looking for a more competitive setting with a higher level of play.

For more players looking for a more recreational setting at a lower competitive level.

TEAM AND INDIVIDUAL PLAYER REGISTRATION
For the Tier 1 Division only, players can register individually, or as an entire team. Team captains who are interested in registering an entire team should contact [email protected]
2023-2024 REGISTRATION FEES
- Individual player registration will be $525 for the 2023-24 season.
- Team registration will be $6,500, regardless of the number of players (though a minimum of 14 players is recommended).
SEASON FORMAT
The 2023-24 BWHA Women’s House League season for both Tier 1 and Tier 2 divisions will be comprised of 18 games plus 1 Championship Day game to wrap up the season. The season will begin at the end of September, and will wrap up the last weekend of March. All games will be played on Sunday evenings at the Sadlon Arena, with games scheduled on a rotating basis between 7:00pm and 11:00pm.
Refund Policy:
- House League registrations include an amount that covers each player’s portion of league overhead and administration costs - including: association expenses (rent, salaries, etc.); OWHA registration and Hockey Canada insurance for players and team officials; jerseys and socks for each player.
- Again this year, the BWHA remains committed to refunding players for any unfinished portion of the season should circumstances not allow our 2021-22 season to be completed as planned. It is important to understand that once the season begins, the amounts noted above for overhead and administration will be 100% non-refundable
- Refunds will not be provided for where a player opts to withdraw once the season has started, or due to injury.
